Mailing Lists

We provide a selection of mailing lists for different purposes, as described below. Click on a list name to go to that mailing list's web page, where you can subscribe, unsubscribe and change your subscription options.

The announcements mailing list: The Announce mailing list is a low traffic list which provides information about what is going on here at MacVisionaries. This may include new product announcements and success stories, for example. This list is read-only, meaning that while you can receive the announcements, you cannot reply to them.
The discussion mailing list: This is an interactive list allowing discussions between members. Topics of discussion can cover anything related to VoiceOver and the use of Mac OS X by the blind. After joining the mailing list you can send out an email, and it will be received by all other members. When someone replies, it will likewise go to all members. Actually, if they reply, it will go to the sender, but if they select reply-to-all in their email client, it will go to everybody. In this way you can quickly get solutions to your problems or feedback on ideas. Please check out the special interest lists described below, and post relevant questions to those lists instead of this general one.
The pro audio mailing list: This mailing list works in the same way as the general discussion mailing list, but the topic of discussion should be limited to the use of VoiceOver in a professional audio environment, such as a music studio. Questions about playing MP3 files or ripping CDs are better suited to the general discussion list.
The developers' mailing list: Again, this list works the same as the general discussion list, but topics should be limited to software development and using VoiceOver to leverage the Unix underpinnings of Mac OS X. Put another way, this list is for techies!
